LAB: The Bakery Experiment- The Food
Soft, melt-in-your-mouth, fluffy ice topped with various sweet ingredients can be found at the Korean café known as LAB. Bingsoo is a popular dessert in Korea and has been brought to Australia for everyone to try. Bingsoo is the perfect palette cleanser after a lovely dinner in the inner west suburb of Strathfield that is filled with great Korean restaurants all around. Not only do they have a variety of desserts and refreshing drinks, a selection of delicious breads and pastries are laid out in a self- serve manner, allowing your own selection of delicious good. Along with this, scrumptious picture perfect cakes are also available for a sweet treat.
The bingsoo that we ordered is a classic among Koreans called patbingsoo. A bowl of finely shaved frozen milk is topped like a mountain as a pile of sweet red bean covers the peak. To compliment this, tiny mochi pieces give the dessert a chewy texture, contradicting the rest of the components. Lastly, a scoop of classic vanilla ice cream adds a finishing touch to the dessert.
OUR THOUGHTS:
So what did we think about the dessert?
This bingsoo was possibly the best in Sydney. The fluffy ice just melts in your mouth as the sweet red bean goes well with it. The mochi adds a great texture that makes you want more. With Lab’s generous serving, It is the perfect size to shared amongst 2-3 people. We highly recommend visiting this spot as it has great food as well as atmosphere!
